天天：Hello everybody, we are from class 104, I'm Areas.

豌豆：I'm Ivy.

  

豌豆：Areas，Do you know why Chinese people wear red clothes, put up couplets, hang lanterns and set off firecrackers every New Year's Eve?

天天：I know.  My grandpa use to tell me a story about Chinese New Year. He told me about a Monster, called Nian. It only comes out during Spring Festival to scare people. 

豌豆：Yes, that's right. Long long ago in China， in the deep deep sea. There lived a huge beast, named Nian. It has a horn like unicorn, the manes like a lion and the tail like a dragon. Every New Year Eve, Nian would go to the nearby village in search of food. It ate animals and humans.

The villagers were scared and took refuge in the mountains.

One New Year Eve, an old man came to the village.

The old man said that Nian was afraid of red, bright lights and loud noises. From then on, Chinese people wear red clothes, put up couplets, hang lanterns and set off firecrackers every New Year Eve.

天天：wow~~That’s why, we need to put on red decorations and do loud fireworks, to scare the Monster away. 

Have you seen the Monster Nian before？ 

豌豆：No. Have you？

天天：well... Two year ago, during the Spring Festival, I had a great time with my family, we ate good food and had lots of fun.

After dinner, I went on a walk with my uncle.  It was dark and rainy

Suddenly, we saw something strange on the side of the road.

It was a gray ball with two big yellow lights and it can move by itself。

豌豆：What is that? the Nian Monster? （此时夸张的惊讶的表情）

天天：I thought so too. so I was scared. But my uncle told me I should be brave. I tried to get closer, step by step. Then I heard a noise, Miao~~   Aww, it was a Cat.

豌豆：It's really a cat?

天天：YES, We took the cat to the animal hospital,  then doctor said the cat doesn’t have a home.

I remembered my dad told me Spring Festival is about Family, Love, and a New Start.

So I decided to take him in as a new family member, showed him love and kindness, gave him a new start.

Now, the Monster Nian become my Lovely Cat Chuwu.

豌豆：Wow, that's amazing，I like kittens, too

天天：Everything deserve a chance.
